The Prettiest Time of the Year

Catching up from the last couple of days.  We have had the BEST sunshine over the last few days, which has brought out stunning autumn colours.  And Halloween decorations (and my home made pumpkin hummus) are plentiful.  I’m happy to share them with you here.  Some are from my Sunday in Victoria with my Mom,…

Checking in from Mom’s

Hi all.  I’m over in Victoria with my Mom.  This morning it was foggy for part of the ferry ride over.  It was beautiful once the fog lifted.  As you can see, my Mom and I got out and about and enjoyed some of the autumn scenery.  Enjoy the day’s shots….and I’ll “see” you back…

Reifel Bird Sanctuary (and more)

I had the day off work today.  It was a beautiful fall day, so I went to Westham Island, which is about half an hour out of the city.  The Westham Island Herb Farm has wonderful Halloween displays, the Reifel Bird Sanctuary is one of my absolute happiest places (so good for the soul) and…

Autumn in full swing (and full colour)

You will see by the pictures that follow that autumn is truly in it’s prime here in Vancouver.  Yesterday was a miserable day, but today, the sun came out, the mushrooms came out, the Halloween decorations at work came out, the seawall is once again closed and after work I went for a walk to…

Our weekend

Last night, we were guests of Cousin Helen’s at a fundraising dinner.  The Beatles were there….and we were dancing.  🙂 I was lucky and won the table centerpiece.  Beautiful!  And fragrant! Neva begrudgingly agreed to wear last year’s Halloween collar for a photo.  Thank you Neva…. It was a busy morning at our hummingbird feeder…….

Bird Centric Action just outside out window

Today, we have QUITE the show in the tree just outside of our window.  Every fall, for a day or two, birds of many kinds come and deplete the berries on the tree.  Neva was fascinated.  I was too.  Neva was also wearing her Halloween finery. (she was fine with the collar/bow.  Not so fine…

Thursday and Friday

It is still cold and rainy here, so again, walks have been short and sweet. AND….it is time for some Halloween photo props.  OOOH!  Spooky!  And my fish and frogs have been photogenic.  Fall colours are starting to appear, and I got a little artsy fartsy in a colleagues office when the sun was setting…

It is officially autumn

I haven’t been out for too many walks in the last couple of days.  Why?  It has been dark and rainy here at the times I could get out.  Not surprising given it is October, but UG!  I’m also sharing shots of the funny “frog skeleton” that I found at Superstore (and I’ve named Peggy…

From Last Weekend

Back from Victoria today, and back to work.  Today’s photos are a wrap up on weekend shots.  Highlights include a baby lamb (AWWWW), a seal feasting on a school of fish (AMAZING!), Halloween decorations and Esquimalt Lagoon.   Enjoy!

Scenes from Friday

Hi from Victoria.  I’m over with my Mom a day early, and we were very busy yesterday, so very few Victoria photos were taken.  However, the ferry crossing over was beautiful and photogenic (albeit cold…)  I did see some deer and a few mushrooms that popped up due to a recent rain.  Enjoy shots from…

A few to see on Thursday

I’ve had a very busy couple of days, hence, not many photos.  But, I HAVE taken a few shots on my walks to and from work.  (and more of my little friends in the work aquarium)   I’m off work tomorrow, heading over a day early to see my Mom.  Will check in from Victoria over…

Late Flowers, Early Fall and lots of people watching

Yesterday I went for a walk around Queen Elizabeth Park, which is a lovely green space not far from our home.  The last of the roses are still blooming in the rose garden, fall leaves are turning, and it is an excellent place to people watch and practice street photography.  I hope you enjoy the…
